1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "User", "Student") and Univise ("Univise", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Univise website, mobile pages, or any related service (collectively, the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, you must immediately stop using the Service.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if:
- You are at least 16 years old, OR you are between 13 and 16 years old and have verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian.
- You have the legal capacity to enter a binding contract in your country of residence.
- You are not barred from using the Service under any applicable law.
If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian is responsible for your use of the Service and is bound by these Terms together with you.
3. Description of Service
Univise is an information and search platform that aggregates publicly available data about universities and academic programs around the world. The Service may include:
- Search across university programs and tuition information.
- Tools to save programs and track applications you submit yourself.
- Optional Pro features such as AI-assisted advisory tools and cost analysis.
- Educational content and informational guides.
Univise is not a recruitment agency, admissions office, immigration consultancy, education agent, or accredited counsellor. We do not file applications on your behalf, do not negotiate with universities, and do not represent any educational institution unless explicitly stated.
4. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, current, and complete information when you register.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorised by you.
- Notifying us immediately at the contact address in Section 17 of any unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that are inactive, fraudulent, or in violation of these Terms.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Submit false, misleading, or impersonating information.
- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from the Service without our express written permission.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or other security measures.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code of the Service.
- Upload malware, harassing content, or content that infringes third-party rights.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service, including the Pro tier.
- Use automated tools (bots, AI agents, scripts) to interact with the Service in a way that imposes unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
6. No Admission Guarantee
You expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- Admission to any university or programme is decided solely by that institution, based on its own criteria, and is entirely outside the control of Univise.
- Univise makes no representation, warranty, or promise that you will be admitted, receive a scholarship, obtain a visa, or achieve any specific educational, financial, or immigration outcome.
- Information about admission requirements (IELTS/TOEFL minima, GPA, deadlines, tuition, scholarships, application fees, language requirements, document requirements) shown on the Service is aggregated from third-party and public sources and may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate.
- You are solely responsible for verifying every piece of information directly with the relevant university before relying on it. The official university website and admissions office are the only authoritative sources.
- You are solely responsible for: preparing your application, submitting it to the university on time, paying any fees directly to the university, meeting deadlines, obtaining and translating documents, sitting standardised tests, and complying with all visa and immigration rules of the destination country.
- Match scores, profile-fit indicators, ranking lists, and AI suggestions are opinions and informational guidance only. They are not predictions, recommendations, or professional advice, and they do not replace independent judgement or qualified counselling.
If you are not admitted to a programme, do not receive a scholarship, miss a deadline, are denied a visa, suffer a financial loss, or experience any other negative outcome, this is not the fault or responsibility of Univise, and you waive any claim against us arising from such outcomes to the maximum extent permitted by law.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, currency, or uninterrupted operation.
Without limiting the foregoing, Univise specifically disclaims any warranty that:
- Program data, tuition, deadlines, requirements, or rankings are accurate, current, or complete.
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
- The results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable.
- Any errors in the Service will be corrected.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In such jurisdictions, the disclaimers above apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Univise, its founders, employees, contractors, partners, or licensors be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages;
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunity, savings, or use;
- University rejection, scholarship denial, visa denial, missed deadline, document loss, or any negative admission outcome;
- Costs paid to universities, agents, language test providers, translation services, immigration authorities, or any third party;
- Tuition, living expense, or relocation costs incurred in reliance on information shown on the Service;
- Loss arising from your decision to enrol, not enrol, transfer, defer, or withdraw from any programme;
- Damage caused by unauthorised access to your account where you failed to safeguard your credentials;
- Damage caused by third-party services we integrate with (payment processors, email providers, AI providers).
If, despite the above, Univise is found liable for any matter arising from or related to these Terms or the Service, our total cumulative liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Univise in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50.
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory of the claim (contract, tort, statute, or otherwise) and even if Univise was advised of the possibility of such damages.
9. AI Features Disclaimer
Univise may offer artificial-intelligence-powered features ("AI Features"), including but not limited to chat advice, cost insights, and program suggestions. You acknowledge that:
- AI Features are powered by third-party large language models and may produce inaccurate, biased, outdated, or fabricated information (often called "hallucinations").
- AI output is informational only and is not professional educational, immigration, legal, financial, or career advice.
- You must independently verify any AI-generated information with the relevant university and qualified professionals before acting on it.
- Univise is not liable for any decision, action, or outcome based on AI-generated content.
10. Pro Subscription, Payment and Refunds
Univise offers a paid "Pro" subscription. By subscribing, you agree:
- The current price is USD 9.99 per month, billed in advance, and may change with at least 30 days' notice for renewing subscribers.
- Payments are processed by a third-party processor (currently LemonSqueezy). Their terms also apply to your transaction.
- Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Except where required by law (for example, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal which you waive by starting to use the Pro features immediately), payments are non-refundable.
- If a payment fails, we may suspend Pro features until payment is restored.
11. Intellectual Property
Univise and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including software, design, branding, and aggregated data. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
University names, logos, programme descriptions, and other third-party marks remain the property of their respective owners.
User Content and Submissions
If you submit feedback, corrections, profile information, application notes, or other content to Univise, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit such content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including (without limitation) violation of these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service ends immediately.
- Sections 6, 7, 8, 11, 14, 15, and 17 of these Terms survive termination.
- Outstanding fees, if any, remain payable.
You may terminate your account at any time by emailing the address in Section 17 or using the in-app account deletion option.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Univise and its founders, employees, contractors, partners, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (i) your use of the Service; (ii) your violation of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third-party right; or (iv) your application to, enrolment in, or interaction with any university or third party encountered through the Service.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of Baku, Azerbaijan, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection laws prevent the choice of law or forum above, those mandatory protections continue to apply to you.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or by posting a notice on the Service at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
